For 35 years, Pantheon has invested across private equity, infrastructure and real assets on behalf of over 415 institutional investors1, including public and private pension plans, insurance companies, endowments and foundations.
Our investment strategies include primary fund programs, secondaries, co-investments, infrastructure, real assets and customized programs. In 2013, we established Pantheon Defined Contribution to provide pension savers with access to comprehensive private assets investment programs.
Pantheon also manages and advises Pantheon International plc (“PIP”), an investment company listed on the London Stock Exchange. Pantheon employs 220 staff, including a global investment team of over 70 investment professionals2. PIP was established in 1987 and is the longest established private equity fund-of-funds on the London Stock Exchange.
To achieve strong risk-adjusted returns for investors, Pantheon believes that a global perspective is essential. Pantheon was founded in London in 1982 and opened offices in San Francisco in 1987, Hong Kong in 1992, New York in 2007, and Bogotá and Seoul in 20143. Pantheon’s physical presence in local markets provides an extensive network of relationships with rigorous on-site due diligence. While each office (other than Seoul) is dedicated to identifying and managing or advising on private investments in its primary geographic region, all offices benefit from the manager relationships, market insight and data provided by Pantheon’s global network.
Pantheon’s ownership structure, with management owning a meaningful share of the equity in the business alongside Affiliated Managers Group Inc. (“AMG”), provides a framework for long-term succession and enables Pantheon to autonomously manage its day-to-day operations. AMG is a global asset management company with equity investments in leading boutique investment management firms.
